It’s that time of year again when game developers from all over the world venture out into daylight to catch planes that converge on San Francisco for a week of discussions, lectures, meetings and possibly a drink or two at the Game Developers Conference.
My suitcase however isn’t packed, but that’s only because I always wait until the last moment before doing these things, I am excited and really looking forward to this years GDC since it also happens to be the conference’s 30th Anniversary! Next year happens to be my 30th year in the games industry… coincidence?
Last year I was privileged to go on stage at the Game Developers Choice Awards ceremony to receive with a few other members of the Monolith team the Game of the Year award for Shadow of Mordor.
That was certainly a highlight of last year and although I doubt this year will be able to top that I’m sure it is going to be an amazing week.
San Francisco, Michael is on his way….
